Dr. Amitabh Gulati is a pain medicine physician, educator, and musician based in New York City. He specializes in interventional pain management and has dedicated much of his career to advancing innovative approaches to the treatment of complex pain conditions.
Dr. Gulati received his medical degree from Baylor College of Medicine, completed his anesthesiology residency at Emory University School of Medicine, and pursued fellowship training in pain management at Weill Cornell School of Medicine in 2007. He also completed certification in medical acupuncture through the Helms Medical Institute, reflecting his interest in multidisciplinary approaches to pain care.
In addition to his clinical work, Dr. Gulati is deeply involved in education and professional development. He serves as President of the World Academy of Pain Medicine United (WAPMU) and regularly participates in teaching, mentoring, and international educational initiatives within the field of pain medicine.
Dr. Gulati's latest commitment to education is through the creation of MDLife Summit. He is focused on addressing a critical gap in physician education by equipping clinicians with practical skills in the business of medicine, leadership, and professional development—areas often overlooked in traditional medical training.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Gulati is an accomplished musician and a founding member of the alternative rock band Punch for Zero, which performs at educational and charitable events. His work reflects a commitment to integrating creativity, leadership, and innovation within the medical profession.
